Nowadays the laser acne scar removal techniques are popular, because they are fast and don’t require a long time for the wounds to heal. There are two main types of laser scar removal – laser resurfacing and fractional laser therapy. Both are very effective acne scar removal methods and both are done by the dermatologist. The laser procedures are done in less than an hour, but the fractional laser therapy is heals almost immediately. Since the laser resurfacing method actually removes the top layer of skin and firms the layer underneath it, it can take up to ten days to heal over completely. Another effective way to get rid of acne scars is by dermabrasion. This is basically wearing down the outer layer of skin so that new skin develops that smoothes the skin. Although the scars are removed, recovery can be three weeks longs. Of course there are also fillers and topical scar removers available. These include Retin-A, AHA or alpha hydroxyl acid and glycolic acids. These all are effective because the outer skin layer is removed and so the scar is no longer visible. The fillers are actually injected into the scar and push them up so they can no longer be seen. The injections have to be repeated since the effect wears off, but nonetheless the results well.
